Technorati and the size of the blogosphere: it can’t be THAT hard to figure out, surely?!
Oh, can you tell it is Monday morning and a long week is in front of me? Sorry for the whining, but it's a real issue for a lot of us. I'm lucky - I'll follow your adventures with Second Life ;) as well as another woman's in our organization. She's started to check out SL, too.
As for the 'complication' that people in SL might not be who they profess to be, well...that can be said for bloggers, too. Unless they are very public bloggers you don't necessarily know just who they are, right? Or folks who do online dating, I guess. Chat rooms, too. There is a bit of a leap of faith online wherever you are.
However, the 'complication' really is when a company tries to do any type of marketing analysis in SL. The information they get probably will not be as accurate as they'd like. After all, "50% of females in SL like our widget", in reality might not be all females...like the avatar you've created. You sly guy, you...
Like I said above in this long winded comment - I will be very interested to hear about your SL adventures, Lee! Keep us all posted.
:-)
